First up is #2 on my list- There Will be Blood.
"A story about family, greed, religion, and oil, centered around a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business," according to IMDb.
It sounds like the typical failed pursuit of the American Dream stuff. Marvellous!
Now, how quickly can I hunt down and read a copy of Oil!?

With Oil! you would only have to read the first 150 out of the 500 or so pages to correspond with what the film used.
True. But then I'd want to read the other 350 pages in order to find out what the author wrote that the filmmakers considered irrelevant. Because I'm that sort of person.
Hence going down the painful no-reading route. Because otherwise I'd just never get this finished.
